Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) has an exciting opportunity for a Administrator – Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) Dublin.

The purpose of the Administrator role is to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the IFI Dublin office and Regional Director, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the office and delivery of key administrative activities.

The Administrator will provide a broad range of administrative support across the Dublin office. The role will include supporting meetings and correspondence, maintaining records and databases, assisting with procurement and purchase orders, staff training administration, fleet and fixed asset administration, fisheries licence sales and customer support, and providing administrative support for projects and events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The main duties will include;

  • Administration of office phones and post

  • Attendance at meetings, taking minutes, managing subsequent records and correspondence

  • Provision of administrative support for events and specific projects

  • License (rod and line salmon and sea trout angling licence plus fish dealer licence) sales / customer support and general administration

  • Administration of fishery rates and debtors accounts

  • Administration of local flee

  • Administration of procurement and co-ordination of equipment servicing

  • Administration of staff training / learning and development programme

  • Administration support for local purchasing (purchase orders process).

  • Administration of fixed assets register

  • Administration and maintenance of multiple databases

  • Administration of records retention and filing system

  • Provide working cover for the City West Main Reception as required

  • Ad hoc duties supporting national working groups and duties assigned by the Director

Job requirements

KEY EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Essential

  • Leaving Certificate (Level 5 NFQ) or recognized equivalent

  • A willingness to travel nationwide when required and a full Category B driving license that is valid in Ireland.

  • Eligible to work full-time in the State and meet the citizenship requirements for the role.

  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in an administrator role

  • Excellent Administration Skills - IT literate (Microsoft Office suite, SAGE HR)

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise, to manage own workflow and to use own initiative

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Excellent Time Management Skills

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Strong team player who can remain positive during challenging tasks

  • Flexibility and ability to balance cyclical daily, weekly and monthly demands with other work requirements.

  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and common sense

  • Delivering a high-quality customer and stakeholder experience is a key aspect of this role

Desirable

  • Experience of working in or closely with the Public Sector

  • Previous experience working with accounts and fleet telematics packages desirable

  • Previous experience working in a large / complex or public sector organisation desirable

LOCATION

This role will be based at IFI’s office in Citywest Business Campus, Dublin D24 CK66.

Inland Fisheries Ireland is proud to offer a hybrid working model for this role which will typically consist of 2-days working remotely and 3-days working from the successful candidate's designated office, subject to business requirements and approval from line management.

REMUNERATION

The salary scale for the position is at the level of Administrative Assistant Grade IV as applies in Inland Fisheries Ireland. This is a 12-point scale including 2 long service increments (LSI’s): Point 1 €36,470.17; Point 2 €38,623.87; Point 3 €39,487.36; Point 4 €41,673.88; Point 5 €43,672.23; Point 6 €45,421.13; Point 7 €47,116.79; Point 8 €49,402.74; Point 9 €51,061.92; Point 10 €52,756.47; Point 11 €54,365.91; Point 12 €56,016.72 (IFI Administrative Assistant Grade IV Grade Payscales as of 01/06/2026)

Candidates should note that salary will not be subject to negotiation and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. New entrants to the public sector will start on point 1 subject to Haddington Road Agreement and subsequent Government Agreements.

TENURE

The term of appointment for the role will be permanent
